M’LOP TAPANG
M’Lop Tapang strives to give street children access to learning tools, resources and opportunities to empower themselves by providing physical and psychological necessities, education, counseling and protection from all types of abuse. It creates a safe haven for street living and street working children, and reintegrates them into their families and community. Stemming from the belief that reintegration of a child into a secure family environment is vital, M’Lop Tapang partners with families to help solve the problems that force these children to live and work on the streets. M’Lop Tapang firmly believes that the whole Sihanoukville community benefits from the project.
M’LOP TAPANG WISH LIST

Counseling: (the biggest need)
We need to cover counseling for children who were sexually abused by a foreigner earlier this year. The five children are receiving excellent services from a highly trained counselor who has 10 years of experience working in Cambodia. The children trust her, which is more than half the battle.

Motorbikes:
The children come from many parts of Sihanoukville and surrounding areas.
Cost: Second-hand off road Motorbike $600, Second-hand Motor Scooter $550
Office Equipment:
Currently we are sharing only two PC’s between the staff, and have had on and off connections through local supporting businesses. We are currently off.
Cost: 1 PC $450, Printer $200, Internet connection $50/month
Medical Supplies:
We go through vitamins and nutritional supplements at an incredibly fast rate, especially for the new children and outreach kids who are often highly malnourished. Other meds needed are Ventolin inhalers, antibiotics, topical creams, Steri strips and dressing supplies.

Soccerballs: It may seem like a small request, but soccer is big in the kids’ lives.

Games: Traditional Cambodian games can be ordered and made.
